Get Involved

The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process emphasizes the importance of community involvement. In compliance with NEPA, the United States Department of the Navy (Navy) prepared the Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement/Overseas Environmental Impact Statement (EIS/OEIS) to analyze potential environmental impacts from ongoing military training activities conducted in the Temporary Maritime Activities Area.

The Final EIS has been released to the public. In the Final EIS, the Navy has made changes to the Draft EIS/OEIS based on comments received during the public comment period for the Draft EIS/OEIS. These changes included factual corrections, additions to existing information, and improvements or modifications to the analyses in the Draft EIS/OEIS. Issuance of this Final EIS/OEIS is followed by a 30-day wait period / public review period, which ends on August 29, 2016. Following this wait period and review of the administrative record, a Record of Decision will be signed by the Secretary of the Navy or designee.
